Stuart was a much loved member of St Austell RFC, a fearsome prop in his playing days and a committed volunteer and committee member in recent years. Stuart was the heart and soul of Tregorrick and became known as The Cardinal, introducing generations of new players to the delights of post-match revelry.

Everyone at St Austell RFC - members, players, supporters, and staff would like to extend their heartfelt condolences to Stuart's wife Sue, his family and close friends.

The Cornish Flag of St Piran and the Club Emblem will be flown at half mast during Saturday's game against Marlborough RFC. A moment of remembrance will take place before the 2:30pm kick-off.

A fuller tribute will take place at a future home game when Sue and family are able to attend.

Funeral arrangements will be shared once known.
