The disappointment of last weekend's narrow defeat to Launceston RFC will still be fresh in the minds of the Saints squad, but Saturday presents an immediate opportunity to respond as St Austell RFC welcome Sidmouth RFC to Tregorrick Park for this Cornwall College sponsored Regional 1 SW fixture.

With Sidmouth sitting eighth in the table and the Saints just one point behind in ninth, the significance of this fixture is clear. A win for St Austell could see them leapfrog the visitors and put a frustrating afternoon against Launceston firmly behind them.

Last week's Launceston fixture may have been decided by the narrowest of margins, but the Saints will know their performance deserved plenty of credit. With every player leaving nothing in reserve, attention now turns to Sidmouth and an opportunity to convert a strong display into a result. Expect a motivated St Austell side determined to put things right in front of their home crowd.

Sidmouth arrive as one of the Saints' closest rivals in the table and can expect a fired-up St Austell side ready to make a statement. With so little separating the teams, supporters can look forward to a physical, competitive encounter where the smallest moments could prove decisive.

Backed by the Tregorrick faithful, the Saints will be looking to rediscover their winning edge, make home advantage count and show the character that has become a hallmark of this squad.

One point separates the sides. One place separates them in the table. On Saturday, the Saints have the chance to put that right.
