By Steve Murley.

With the Saints sharing top spot on 9 points with Wellington and Bideford, Saturday sees them travel to Saltash for their next challenge. While the Ashes are currently bottom of the table, the league is in its early days and any under-estimation of themwould be unwise.

Having played their first 2 games away from home, Ashes will no doubt be delighted to find themselves back at their home ground, Moorlands Lane. Their attacking play so far this season has been good, scoring 49 points while Saints have scored 51 and top of the table Bideford just 52. It will be their defence that they will be working at this week no doubt having conceded 70 to the Saints31, the third lowest total in the league.

Saltash’s Moorlands Lane ground has always proved a tough one to visit. Over the years we have enjoyed some close calls there, last season we were comprehensive winners at home but took a close one at their place by 19-22. It would be no surpriseif this Saturday saw a similar thriller and Saints know they have to be on top form to record their third win.

Saltash will be telling themselves that this, their first home game of the season against one of the top teams is the ideal opportunity to kick-start their season and get into winning ways. While Saints will be looking to consolidate their exciting startand develop their game with its exciting brand of running rugby.

Lets hear Head Coach Kyle Marriotts thoughts, "After a successful first 2 weeks of the season the most pleasing thing for me as a coach is the drive of the Saints squad to improve. We have reviewed last weeks game and focused on things to work on ready for Saltash this weekend. Away games always provide a challenge and it is important we focus in order to get the result we want. COYS!!"

Two teams both keen to get that win and a Cornish derby to boot, what a fantastic afternoons entertainment is in store.
