Here at St Joseph's Rockware FC the safeguarding and welfare of our players is of paramount importance and we take it extremely seriously. We constantly strive to ensure that we are creating a positive & supportive environment for our player to grow and develop in whilst ensuring it is safe and enjoyable as possible. Safeguarding is Everyone Responsibility!
Clear safeguarding policies have been put in place at the club to protect all the people involved in our grassroots football within the youth section and the open age section along with a Anti-Bulling Policy and Equality Policy. The three policies can be found at the bottom of this page and in our policy and procedures section.
We have a club welfare officer and an assistant club welfare officer.

If you are concerned about the safety or welfare of one of our players, or the behaviour of an adult towards a child please contact the relevant welfare officer using the contact details above or by filling in our online concerns form using the following link. If you believe a child is at immediate risk of harm please call the police on 999.
Here are other ways in which you can report a concern outside of the club:

•By emailing The FA Safeguarding Team at safeguarding@TheFA.com or by calling and asking for the team on 0800 169 1863;
•If urgent and you cannot contact your club, league or County FA Designated Safeguarding Officer, you should call the NSPCC 24 hour helpline on 0808 800 5000
•If it is an emergency because a child or children are at immediate risk, then call the Police or Children’s Social Care in your area.

The FA Whistle-Blowing Policy
Whistle-blowing in a safeguarding context means revealing and raising concerns over misconduct or malpractice within an organisation, or within an independent structure associated with it.
It can be used as an early-warning system or when it’s recognised that appropriate actions have not been taken. This approach or policy is adopted in many different walks of life.
Any adult or young person with concerns about a colleague’s conduct towards a child or young person can also use whistleblowing by calling 0800 169 1863 and asking for The FA’s safeguarding team, or via email to: Safeguarding@TheFA.com
Alternatively, concerns can be reported:
•Direct to the local Police or Children’s Social Care services, or
•The Child Protection in Sport Unit at cpsu@nspcc.org.uk, or The NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000 or email: help@nspcc.org.uk
