Another frustrating week for different reasons, positive of Conor Davis' return to bowling.

A sunny day was set to bless us for the first time in a month! However there was a real danger of showers. We lost the toss and we instructed to field. Martin Prudence and Jacob Taylor started well and we took an early wicket. Looking sharp in the field and applying early pressure. We then went on to drop the two next batsmen behind the stumps. This would go on to prove costly. The heavens then opened and we were forced off, with the boys applying the temporary covers/sheets to the strip. At the end of the day we hadn't played cricket in weeks and we really wanted to get the game on while the sun was out.

We did then get out on the field again later than usual. We still had another 30 overs or so to try to work a win. Our mistakes were hugely costly as we struggled to contain the batsmen with the boundary brought in. They went on to fly past 100 within their first 20 before Lewis Bone removed the other opened LBW to give some hope to the side. The other batsman stood resolute at the other end throughout the innings and anchored well as we gradually started to take a few more wickets. However by this time Bobbing already had a healthy total! Rob Adams collecting a few wickets as well as Conor Davis coming on to gather a 4 wicket haul very close to the 5th. This was a massive positive to see after returning from injury. Some positive good catches were also taken from Prudence, Adams, Davis and Inglis as well as a great run out from A.Bone. We are yet to put our full game together and provide this all round performance we know we can.
Bobbing managed to get to 223-9 from their 40.

In reply we got off to a horrible start as the opposition umpire did not hesitate for one second in giving out opener Howard Waters, an interesting decision in the grand scheme of the game. But Raj would then Join Alex Bone at the crease who was playing some wonderful strokes, both Alex and Raj were drawn into shots that maybe they didn't need to play. This brought to the crease the man that has seen this all before, Mark Bristow stayed strong throughout to give himself a 41 not out as every time a partnership was built another wicket would fall and he struggled to build a partnership with anyone! The 3s clambered to 118 all out off of 34 overs. Disappointing result as things the last few weeks just haven't been going our way, we just need to get luck back on our side at Sheppey away next week.
