Thornton-Cleveleys currently have 2 active teams, the 1st team currently reside in North Lancashire Division One, in the RFU Leagues. The 2nd team are placed in the NoWIRUL (North West Intermediate Rugby Union Leagues) in Division 3 (North).

2008/2009 was a great season for Thornton-Cleveleys 2nd team as they were Champions of Division 5 North securing Thornton's first title in 21 years (since 1987/1988).

In the 2011/2012 season Thornton-Cleveleys 1st team made history by becoming Champions of the NoWIRUL Division 3 North and securing an unbeaten season.

In 2012/2013 the 1st team moved back over to the RFU Leagues to North Lancashire Division Two and were promoted to North Lancashire Division One after their first season back in the official set up, finishing in 2nd place, runners up behind Ashton-Under-Lyne. A season which also saw our 2nd XV clinch yet another promotion. Cannot get much better than double promotions, can you?
