Uddingston Selkies was formed in August 2021 with Stuart Chalmers taking up the position of Head Coach and Duncan Pine assisting him.

There were 3 ladies on that first night at training and the team has grown exponentially since then, with the majority of ladies finding us on social media.

Most of the players started with no rugby experience and been committed to learning the game.

After one year of training, Uddingston Selkies entered into the SRU Aspiring League and spent the season playing games with up to 10 players on the pitch at a time.

January 2023 saw an alignment with Lenzie Women's Rugby and by August 2023 we had built up a solid Uddingston team and entered the newly developed West 2 league.
