Uddingston recorded a 3rd consecutive league victory for the first time since December 2018 with a comprehensive 45-5 victory over Strathendrick at Castle Policies
With 2 wins in the past 2 weeks under their belts the Villagers went into the match with renewed confidence, and this was not misplaced. A strong and powerful opening period saw Uddingston clock up 4 unanswered tries as they dominated the key aspects of the match.
First across the whitewash was prop James Brown, with fellow forward Clinton Boyd following for the second. A quick fire double from Ru Anderson rounded off the first half tries, and 4 conversions and a penalty from the boot of Captain Cammy Quinn saw the Villagers head into the break with a comfortable, and well deserved, 31 point advantage.
The pace eased slightly in the second half, but Uddingston never lost control of the match. A further 2 tries from Calum Fox and Liam Quinn, stretched the advantage, while a flawless performance from the tee saw Cammy Quinn round off the scoring with both conversions.
For the visitors, they did collect a consolation score mid way through the half, but never really troubled the home side in the areas that mattered.
By full time, the 45-5 scoreline was a fair reflection of how the match played out and the full 5 points stayed at Castle Policies.
Next Saturday, 15/10, the Villagers will be looking to further cement their top 5 placing when they travel to Ayrshire where Irvine will be their hosts. Kick off at 3pm
