Despite a tight first half, and a strong start to the second by the Villagers, it was the home side who ran out the stronger, closing the game out in the final 30 minutes for a deserved 32-8 victory.
The first half was tight, with only 5 points separating the sides at the break - a try and penalty from WD to an Anderson penalty for the Villagers.
Uddingston hit the ground running in the second period with a well taken Anderson try levelling the score at 8-8 with 45 minutes played.
The following 15 minutes were tight but a yellow card for the home side seemed to provide them with the motivation they needed and 3 converted tries and a penalty followed, ensuring all 5 points stayed at Langloan.
The defeat puts more pressure on the Villagers in the fight to avoid any second relegation spot from Division 2. With only 10 points separating positions 5 through to 9 it looks like be a tense end to the season.
Despite the Calcutta Cup match next Saturday the Villagers will be on league duty, hosting unbeaten Strathendrick at Castle Policies with a 2pm kick off.
