Despite their commendable effort, the Under 16 team of Renfrewshire Raiders, supported by Uddingston RFC boys, fell short with a final score of 46-36 today away to Cumnock Rugby club.

Both team's put in a strong physical game, but we faced adversity by missing a few conversions and giving away a couple of easy trys. Despite these setbacks, todays players demonstrated unwavering resilience and maintained an impressive level of teamwork, showcasing their determination to compete at a very high standard. Given this was our first meeting, the level of integration was amazing to see. To say I'd rather watch that kind of game over an international is no over exaggeration, the quality shows was outstanding, the levels of determination and team work was second to none.

Several moments of class at the Cumnock try line saw us get a try on more than one occasion, with intense physical rugby being played.

The match was a testament to their skill and commitment, with some joint training, growth will come as they continue to develop as a cohesive unit.

We look forward to joint training and more games this season with Renfrewshire.

A massive thank you to the Renfrewshire Raiders for allowing us to join.

Rugby is truly an epic sport, made so by the levels of commitment and drive seen today, as well as the amazing game play seen on the pitch.
