With an excellent FA Trophy performance at Maldon & Tiptree still leaving a warm feeling we turn our attention to the league and the visit of FC Romania. Our previous eight meetings have seen us beaten only once, in last year’s away game but we can’t let that lull us into any sense of security.

A change of management off the field has brought an injection of cash and after a hesitant start to the season the Wolves have started to repay the investment. Tuesday saw them also make progress in the FA Trophy with a penalty shoot-out win over Westfield and before that they drew at Waltham Abbey. That was just two days after Abbey had humbled us here in a league game and ten days after a good league win at Berkhamsted.

We may be seven places above them in the table but at this early stage of the season that can have very little meaning. As always a tight and entertaining game beckons. There is no news on the injury front but Tuesday’s result showed that we have a squad able to rise to the occasion.
