Saturday’s game will be our sixth since we last had a home win. Paul and his team are well aware that we need to do something about that if we are to stay in the play-offs and finish with a home draw in the semi-final.

AFC Dunstable find themselves on an even worse run, just two wins and three draws in their last 12 matches, which has seen them drop down the table after a promising start to the season. Mind you, Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat of Cirencester will have improved confidence.

We lost the away fixture 3-0 back in October when we didn’t get any breaks though some of the problems were of our own making. Pumping long balls upfield where the ODs’ centre back Ryan Frater cut them out was the worst example. Frater is likely to be playing on Saturday so I hope we have a different approach ready for the day.

Sunday youth football.

There are two games on Sunday featuring the Under-17s at home to Enfield Borough in an Eastern Junior Alliance game kicking off at 2pm and the Under-16s at 10am hoping to become the second of our youth teams to reach the final of their age respective Herts County Challenge Cup. They will be meeting Baldock Town, whose side beat our Under-15s in the semi-final of their age group. So, hopefully with your support our boys can even up the score. Entry is free and the tea bar and clubroom will be open.

For the record our Under -14s won through to their final last week and the Under-17s face Hemel Hempstead in their semi-final next week. The youth teams continue to boost the club’s reputation.
