As the season is now getting in full swing both our first and reserve teams face tricky away games on Saturday with Shelley for the first team and the Reserves travel to Leeds Modernians Reserves.

After last weeks game was called off the first team's last game was at home to Pool two weeks ago and they will be hoping that there is no rustiness against a very good Shelley side.

Last season Shelley were flying high at the top of the table and looked a good bet to go on and clinch a place in the top three and promotion to the Premier Division but Covid-19 put an end to that as the season was declared null and void.

This season they have had a mixed start with two straight defeats against Salts and Otley Town before a much more familiar result last time out against Wyke Wanderers which they won 6-2.

So Wetherby will be under no illusions that this will be a very tough game against one of the divisions best.

And there are a few players missing from the Wetherby squad this week for various reasons, Ryan Heptinstall (away), Jonny Dockerty (work) and Marvin Sorhaindo (away) all miss out, which will give other players chance to come into the starting 11 and cement their place.

A win could move Athletic up to 4th place in the league (pending other results).

Kick off is 2:30 at Stafflex Arena in Hudderfield.

The Reserve team are also in action tomorrow as they face Leeds Modernians Reserves away from home.

In a feisty game last week the lads were defeated 0-3 at home to Rothwell Reserves but once again chances missed was their downfall with Rothwell more clinical in the final third.

Leeds Modernians have had a good start to the season winning two of their opening three games, their only defeat coming on the opening day of the season against last weeks opponents Rothwell.

Since then two away wins at Altofts and Tingley have propelled them to 5th in the table.

Wetherby go into the game missing Lee Campbell who is suspended for three games after getting sent off in last weeks game against Rothwell.

Again kick off for this one is 2:30pm.
