Widden hosted touring side (AEC) on Sunday the 18th January 1958 and cruised to a 23-0 win. Normally this would go unnoticed, but Widden were the very first Gloucester side to play a game on a Sunday.

Widden were also the first junior club in Gloucester to have their own clubhouse.
