Man of the moment Ryan Newton (pictured above), carried on where he left off after last seasons Junior Cup final result. Newton struck 94 in a 10-an-over run rated opening stand with John Falconer (67), who bought up an electric half century at the end of the 7th over.

Tom Walker (38) and Chris Holden (24) added timely cameos before captain Lee Newton whacked an unbeaten 46 at the death of the innings to tick the side over to 307-6 from their 40 overs.

In the field the Oak trees made their mark, with some delightful pairs pick ups and high standards throughout. The bowling attack would have felt frustrated at the fact they were unable to bowl out a gritty Granta batting line-up. Full mentions go to their captain Richard Erlebach and youngster Felix Serby on measured batting displays. The wickets were shared amongst a thriving attack that looked dangerous. Paul Dewey (6-0-19-2) and Conor Logan (6-0-25-2) were the only pair to gain more than one wicket.
