Chasetown came from behind to win away in the league for the first time this season.
Belper won a 6th minute corner after Chase keeper Curtis Pond had to scurry back to prevent an own goal from Richard Smith. From that kick, the hosts took the lead with a free header from Chris Budrys.
Chasetown levelled in the 19th minute. Jake Lovatt’s pass was completely missed by a Nailers defender gifting a chance to Muzzy Nduna who calmly levelled from 12 yards.
Just before the interval, Nduna broke clear and elected to tee up George Cater rather than shoot but the winger was inches away from getting his head to it.
The Scholars took the lead five minutes into the second half. Will Whieldon beat a man on the right wing and drove the ball into the box where Cater got there first and diverted the ball past Danny Roberts from 6 yards.
Jordan Flattley then forced a save from Roberts as Chasetown looked to extend their lead, while at the other end Curtis Pond had to kick away an effort at his near post from substitute Dylan Garnett.
Both sides had their chances to score further goals but the Scholars held on to the three points.
Belper had a late penalty appeal turned down as the Derbyshire side tried to force a late draw.
