With a strong wind behind them Creighton struggled to break a rugged Millom defence but they eventually took the lead following a good break by player coach Dennis Bibby, pictured. He fed Jamie Warwick who went over near the posts for Matt Rogers to convert.
After Millom had a spell of sustained pressure, when they were unable to break a determined Creighton defence, the home side finished the half on top and Rogers landed two penalties.
Millom were first to score in the second half with a try but Creighton replied with a well-worked score of their own.
Having turned the ball over it was moved out to winger Tony Palmer who made good yards before putting full back Andy Goodellow into space with a well-timed pass to go in under the posts. Rogers converted.
Goodfellow went from hero to zero when his pass was intercepted by the Millom winger and he raced away from the halfway line to score.
When Millom’s backs were caught offside Rogers put over the kick to make it 23-10.
Millom tried to pin Creighton back into their 22 but their kicks were carried dead by the strong wind giving the home side the advantage of scrum back inside the opposition half.
It was from a scrum that the ball was moved along the back line to winger James Shanks who made good ground but when tackled he popped the ball up to supporting Bibby. He then found fellow centre Greg Newlands with a great pass for him to go in wide out.
The final try for Creighton was scored when second row Richard Liddle put in a great charge for the line only to be held up short.
He laid the ball back for Goodfellow to pick up and dive over.
Creighton have one game left to try and keep their 100 per cent record for this section when they travel to Penrith Vagabonds on Saturday.
