4 teams hoping for Grand Final sucess

There could be a trophy won by some Altofts lads before the season has even started down at Lock Lane.

Luke Whitmore, Kristian Miller and this years overseas Matthew Bishop are all playing for Heatherhill 1s this weekend in their Grand Final match against Baden Powell. Heatherhill have already faced Baden Powell twice this season with both sides winning there home ties. Last years overseas player Kristian Miller memorably scored a ton in the home game earlier in the season. Hopefully it will be more of the same this weekend for at least one of the Altofts lads.

Heatherhill 3rd XI game is also an interesting one as they play Langwarrin. For some of you this will absolutely nothing, but Langwarrin is a club we have had connections with for a lot of years. Langwarrin is Clive's Australian version of Altofts. He has coached generation upon generation of player there, played there, done groundsman duties there amongst many other things. So a tie will might be the only way of pleasing CJ when it come sto the 3rd XI Grand Final.

This weekend also marks the end of the season and a farewell for both Luke and Matty before they make there way over to the UK ready for our season. Luke is scheduled to arrive back in the UK on the 5th April which coincidentally is our first outdoor net session. Matty however is doing a little bit of travelling on the west coast of America before arriving the following Thursday 12th April. That evening the club will be going for a curry at our sponsors Arooje after training to properly welcome Matty to the club.

We wish both the Heatherhill 1s, 2s, 3s and 4s the best of luck for the big weekend of grand finals, bring the trophies home lads.
