U12s @ Kent Prelims held at Old Elthamians (14 Jan 2018)

First foray into Junior rugby and the Kent preliminary round one. Was always going to be a challenge, against some teams with large squads. All the squad should be very proud for their efforts, and most impressively the character and determination when the going got tough.

Results:
Bromley "B" - Won 5-1.
An awesome and richly deserved team effort. We were “upp” for this game from minute one, sure in part due to playing against school friends and the local derby element. Although on the pitch it still needed to be executed, some brilliant team trys a fine reward for the team’s hunger and appetite for this game, the loyal supporters greatly enjoying every aspect of this game. Trys from Fraser (x2), Josh, Ellis & Ollie.M. Captain, Josh.
Tunbridge Wells "A" - Lost 0-6
A very well organised T.Wells team, 0-5 down at half time, Beccs battled very hard and showed fantastic character in the second half to contain the eventual group winners to one score. Captain, Quinn.
Westcombe Park "A" - Lost 0-6
A similarly very well organised W.Park team who we knew well and would be strong opposition from last week’s fixture. Beccs down to 11 players for ¾ of the game, WP kindly reciprocated numbers. Captain, Aaron.
Ashford - Lost 0-6
Another strong opposition, Beccs down to 11 shortly after the start, and 10 for the second half, again numbers kindly reciprocated by Ashford. Most impressively, after conceding the 6th try, and down to 10 men, asking the boys if they wanted to continue (when coaches had the option to stop the game), all of the boys resoundingly said yes. You cant teach determination and character like that, a very bright finish considering the adversity and knocks picked up along the way, SO PROUD! Captain, Leo.

Beccs finishing fourth in Group B, looking forward to the next, "streamed round 2". Sunday 4 March, hosted by Bromley RFC.
