I felt quite nostalgic at the game on Saturday as the weather brought back memories of home.

It was a wet and windy day at Hastings and I ran touch.
The pitch was in good condition.
Hastings got the first score when their left wing ran from their half. It was a fine tackle from Paul Broadhurst which stopped him but he got the off load for the second row to score under the posts. The try was converted to make it 7-0.
Beccs replied quickly and Sam Edwards scored in the corner and the conversion was missed to make it 7-5.
There were no more scores in the first half.
Beccs had the wind behind them in the second half and Alex Warsop dropped a goal to make it 7-8.
When Beccs drove a lineout from about 20 metres out Sol thought he had scored only to find he was 6 metres short. Not to worry George Tossell scored almost immediately and Alex kicked a good conversion 7-15.
Towards the end of the game Hastings were awarded a penalty which they kicked to make the final score 10-15.

Team: G Tossell, S Usher, D Le Bas, D Watkins, J Fogarty, B Coles, C Buckler, R Souter, P Brooks, A Warsop, S Edwards, E Ashworth, F Buckle, T Ottewill, P Broadhurst. Subs: R McGeown, P Thirkettle, G Lipka.

Shooters Hill 1s: 17 - Beccehamians 3s :15

The 3s had the same result as the previous week away at Shooters Hill. Kavan Tymon played part of the game in the centre and scored a try. I can never remember his dad scoring a try.
