Beccs U15 get to Plate Semi at Kent 7's

By

A long day at Ashford...

After a tough start against one of the strongest sides Blackheath, we lost our first pool game 0 - 28
In our 2nd game against Sittingbourne, we regrouped remembering our coaching sessions from in the week, winning 28 -14, with tries from St. John, Greg, Ben and Herb.
Our 3rd pool game was against Gravesend who provided less of a test, allowing us to run through our patterns winning 42 - 0, with tries from Greg, Max (2), James V (2) and Seiji.
Our final pool game against Canterbury proved to be a very physical competition with the sides closely matched. After an altercation involving several players, Greg was harshly adjudged to be the main and only offender and got a red card, meaning he could take no further part in the competition. Having only 6 players for the remainder meant that Canterbury had an overlap on every play and we lost 7 - 28 with our try coming from St John.
After a very long gap, we progressed to a Plate quarter final against Medway. Despite some very strict, bordering on pedantic, refereeing that at one point left us with only FIVE players, we managed a win against all the odds, winning 28 - 24 with tries from Seiji, Max and Eoin (2).
After another extended gap we met Tunbridge Wells, by now the boys were tiring and carrying a few injuries, we lost our final game 0 - 28.
Although we did not progress as far as we hoped, the squad played as a team with all 12 players taking part, our thanks go to all the coaches, Charlie, Jamie, Max and especially Tim for preparing us for the day.

Man of the Match (Day): Max Mouna
