A home replay against Brentwood saw the Waders turn out at Cozy park St.Neots, which became anything but cozy as Brentwood piled on the pressure in a match that had started so well.
Two quality goals, one from each side, a Sherwin Stanley thunderbolt from the edge of the box equalled by our returning hero Craig Daniel all in the space of the first fifteen minutes. An unsettled Wader's side did not get to grips with Brentwood in the early stages and it took Lee Allinson to convert a corner on thirty three minutes to put Biggleswade into the lead. For some strange reason, and I don't know what the Brentwood side took exception to the goal and the match dived into a very bad tempered affair which really cost Brentwood their concentration.
After the break Kelvin Bossman increased the lead and what should have been the finish of the Ryman side proved to be the making as Milner ran down the right wing to cut in and beat our man Brown low to his right, just two minutes later. Tempers frayed and a total of eight bookings on the night did not really reflect the game as Brentwood looked for the equaliser. Brown was outstanding as usual and Stuart Farrell followed his man of the match award on Saturday with a goal line clearance to prevent a certain leveller. It was Biggleswade relieved to hear the final whistle and into the next round against Poole Town.
On the road again Saturday to Dorchester, an early start indeed, for your intrepid reporter. Up the Waders.
