Report by Mike Draxler

SCARE........ We had been advised of a late pitch inspection, our team and spectators loaded on the bus facing anxious minutes until the referee had done his duty and declared the pitch fit at about 09.40

THE BEAR..... Never have I seen such a tall bear whose dancing skills could have graced " strictly " his prediction skills left a lot to be desired. Asked by the local radio commentator his final score, in true pantomime fashion, one tap of his foot for the Waders and two for Dorchester.

THE THREE POINTS..... On a sticky pitch both teams were going to find it difficult to put together a silky smooth passing game but the Waders accomplished this with Lee Allinson bossing the midfield in acres of space. Craig Daniel finding his way back to form, new boy Greg Morgan on the other flank showing skills to grace the Dorset ground. Bossman working hard up the front end ably assisted by Beech and Lee Reed. The back four all put in a shift and our man did what was expected and made most of his work look easy. Biggleswade were good for the lead on thirty four minutes with Lee Reed nipping in front of Bossman to steer the ball in the net with the neatest of headers. The Waders continued to press and went off at half time wet from a heavy shower of rain but pleased with the way the job was being done.

Out for the second half is was so much more of the Waders pressing Dorchester back and creating panic in the danger areas. Dorchester had their moments but accuracy was not involved as the few shots mustered went high or wide. As time grew short, Dorchester pressed again but the back line stood tall with Roberts always involved, Cam Mawer giving out the orders, Stuart Farrell who is having a great run at centre back filling in for Andrew Iwediuno and the quiet man Mark Coulson all doing fantastic in the extremely wet conditions. It was not easy but a very credible performance from all saw our boys tired but content with a job well done.

FA Trophy week next weekend against league leaders Poole Town, more of this will certainly see us in the hat for the next round. Up the Waders
