First game we were a little to strong against an inexperienced team. The Burnley/Preston girls dominated the game and were able to find the space to run, stealing the ball from the rucks and creating multiple turn overs from some strong tackles. Score was 4 – 0 to Burnley, 3 conversions.

Second game was more evenly matched and at half time the score was one try all. Some great passing down the line and realising that they couldn’t just run it in and more skill was needed. They needed to think more about the game when under attack and great to see what they learnt in training being put into use and doing some quick passing down the line. Great teamwork as we rotated and some played out of position for periods of the game and due to injury. Final score was 3-1 to Burnley, 2 conversions.

Burnley U14s - Lottie, Kate and Lily all played in the Broughton Park festival playing with our friends from Preston and the girls from Eccles. Together the three clubs formed a formidable team working well together in forward play creating the platform for the backs to attack. The team beat good teams from Heaton Moor and Rochdale. Lottie did some fantastic mazy running; Kate was strong and dominant in the tackle; and Lily, on debut, was fantastic supporting play and getting stuck in. Well done to all three girls.

Burnley teamed up with Rochdale and Winnington for the 1st match against TMV.

Really good match by joint team winning 12 tries to 3. With Burnley girls getting on the score sheet by Sophia, Savannah & Elena. Really good tackling/rucking by all.
