Falkland Junior Boys

2021 Summer Season - the fun begins in April*

*Fingers firmly crossed. We're planning anyway for a busy and fun summer of cricket for boys of all ages and abilities in our local community. If you're new to cricket or to the area, we'd love to see you sometime at our lovely facilities in Wash Common.

Please see details below, highlighting what we offer. However, thanks to the efforts of our fabulous coaches, helpers and volunteers, most Boys activities and age groups are now running at capacity for this coming summer. Sessions are open to those who have joined and registered only, but do feel free to contact us to enquire. Please don't make any promises to your boys just yet though, as we wouldn't like to disappoint!

From 8th May we will be running ECB All Stars and Dynamos sessions on Saturday mornings. Great soft-ball fun for boys AND girls, we also recommend this as the ideal starting place for those with little or no experience of cricket at Falkland - high energy fun and games developing essential all-round ball skills and coordination, enjoyed by children and parents alike! All Stars for 5-8 year olds and Dynamos for 8-11 year olds. Search for 'ECB All Stars' or 'ECB Dynamos' for more information and to sign up. It's a simple thing to then slip into Junior cricket (below) later in the season if and when your child fancies it.

From 19th April our busy and active Junior Boys section (school years 3 to 10) will meet every Monday for cricket fun throughout the summer (the Junior Girls meet on a Friday). Open to boys of all abilities, it's ideal for those who have had at least some experience of cricket previously (All Stars or Dynamos, for example). That said, our wonderful team of ECB qualified coaches and enthusiastic helpers are very happy to welcome and involve anybody who might be new to the game and fancies trying it out.

The elephant-in-the-room this year still continues to be the Covid safety situation. Whilst we endeavour to provide cricket opportunities for as many as we can, we may well need to limit numbers to ensure we can operate with due process. It will certainly be the case that we'll need to operate to maximum group sizes and keep registers, so please ensure that you have contacted us via the details below before making any promises to your children - we'd hate to disappoint!

If you'd like to see more of what Falkland CC do then have a look at the News page of this website, and the Images/Videos section also shows some of the fun we have too. In addition you can find us on Facebook @FalklandCricketClubNewbury or Twitter @falklandcc.

A big thankyou to those of you who have already volunteered your time and energies in helping us to run cricket for the boys this summer. Much appreciated as ever, and we hope things will be as fun as usual for the adults too. If you're not helping run the sessions then do please sit and watch the boys have fun - the facilities at Falkland provide a lovely place to be. Whilst we want the parent environment to be as friendly and convivial as possible, we do ask that you ensure you comply with any relevant Covid safety requirements, thankyou.
