Adult Cricket - Men & Women

Adult Cricket - Men & Women

(January 2020)

Finchley Cricket Club has been running men’s teams since 1832, and were founder members of the Middlesex County Cricket league in 1972.

Finchley Cricket Club have four mens’ league sides on Saturdays and two on Sundays, as well as a cup team. We are record four time winners of the London-wide knockout cup completion The Evening Standard Trophy. We won it’s replacement, The Club Cricket Conference Cup, at the first attempt in 2009 and were runners-up in 2010, confirming the club’s position at the pinnacle of club cricket in the capital.

We provide a fun environment for all levels of ability, incorporating our best colts and supporting them in their ambitions for representative honours, as well as catering for entirely social players. New players are always welcome!

The ‘Finchley Gunns’ are the women’s section of FCC, following the merger of Finchley CC and Gunnersbury WCC in 2010. Over the years, many England and overseas internationals have played for Finchley Gunns, but we need to ensure the continuing influx of new team members.

We field 1st and 2nd XI teams each year, and in 2020 we will be competing in the WCSL Premier League (league winners 2016, 2017 and 2018), WCSL Premier T20 league, ECB National T20 Knockout Competition (2018 winners!), Middlesex F40 League, and Middlesex Division 1 T20 League.

Matches are usually scheduled for Sundays, with occasional Bank Holiday Mondays included.

Apart from league matches, there are occasional 'friendly' matches organised, and sometimes 6-a-side competitions - if we can fit them into our busy fixtures schedule. Also, occasional softball festivals are arranged - for fun and to see if anyone would like to develop an interest in 'hardball' cricket.

We are planning on having 4 or 5 indoor training sessions at Bishop Stopford School, on fortnightly Sundays, starting in February - details to be announced.
This will lead into outdoor training prior to the start of the season at the end of April.

The outdoor training evening has not yet been confirmed, but it may change form the previous years' Tuesdays. Timings will be 6.30-8pm and running throughout the summer. Visit the Finchley Gunns Facebook page for updates.(
