As the new season approaches you will see that a significant amount of work has been and continues to be carried out at the Club
This includes the replacement of the height restrictors, the replacement of a urinal and toilet in the men's toilets, the floor in the club house has been sanded and varnished, the entrance hall, changing rooms and shower room has been repainted as has the outside facia of the Club House.
Unfortunately having stripped down the window frames in the club room it is very apparent that they are rotten and will need replacing, as will the frame around the fire doors. The options are whether to double glaze the whole area or to replace the window frames and re-use the original glass. The Club is awaiting the quotes before making a decision. The work will then done. So please bare with us.
We also intend to put a new heating system into the Club Room, removing the old storage heaters. Parts have been ordered and we are hopeful that the work will be completed by the end of October at the latest.
The cost is not insignificant and will be a substantial drain on the Club finances, but the work is being done for you and shows the Club's commitment to our long term future. Last year's annual accounts will show a profit of just £2- so the money will have to come from our savings or money we raise
There will also be small maintenance jobs that we want to carry out throughout the season (painting the gates for instance) rather than looking to complete it all over a summer weekend.
If there is anything that you think that you can do to help whether it is specialist skills or just good will please let me know.
This is what the Club is doing for us all. So what can you do.
Please support the Club by paying your annual subscriptions on time. The money is needed and needed now.
Support the Club by drinking at our bar

We intend to have a number of Club functions throughout the season to support our fund raising to pay for the windows and heating in particular. Please support these functions starting with the Family Fun on Sunday 13th September. The functions are being put on for you to enjoy. So support them and support the Club
Finally if you think that you can help in any way in relation to the heating, windows or some of the small maintenance jobs then let me know.
There is a really good positive feeling in the Club at the moment. Contribute, get involved. Be a part of something special.
