What is Tag Rugby?

TAG RUGBY is a safe, fun and exciting form of non-contact rugby that can be enjoyed by boys and girls of all abilities.

There are no scrums, lineouts or tackling so the game can be played and enjoyed by both beginners and experienced players alike. Children can start aged 4 - 6 in our U6 group and play tag till U8. The majority of our tag players go on to play mini-contact at U9. From U7s upwards, in addition to training, there are regular competitive matches against other clubs and Tag festivals. More information about the age grade rugby system can be found below:

What is Mini Rugby?

King’s follow the RFU’s new rules of play which offer a gradual introduction to contact rugby between the age groups of U9 to U12. Scrums, lineouts and kicking are all introduced by U12s. King’s Minis run A and B squads from U9-U12 that welcome new players of every standard. The season includes training sessions, friendly matches and festivals culminating in the two end of season Surrey County Club
Tournaments. Many of the age groups also tour regularly.

What is Junior Rugby?

King’s Juniors play 15-a-side rugby with only minor variations from the full adult game. King’s typically run a single squad at each Junior age group but still welcome new players of all standards. The Juniors’ season includes a mixture of training, friendly matches and fixtures in the Surrey Junior Leagues. Many of our Junior players have gone on beyond U18 to represent the Senior Club.

When is it?

All Mini Rugby takes place on Sunday morning starting at 10:00. There will be a mixture of training session, matches against local clubs and the occasional festival.
