Last Saturday, for the second week running, saw a match played in less-than-ideal conditions of persistent heavy rain and strong winds at the Lavish Life Competitions Stadium, where Kirkley & Pakefield FC 1st Team hosted Walsham Le Willows. Following five successive league wins that saw the ‘Royals’ rise into the top three in the league, last Saturday brought more gloom with a fifth straight loss after two late Walsham Le Willows goals in a 0-2 defeat. The goals came in the 82nd minute, followed by a penalty just three minutes later. This defeat now sees the ‘Royals’ drop to 11th place in a very close mid-table.
Both the ‘Reserves’ and the ‘Under 23s’ were without a match last weekend.
This Saturday, the K&PFC 1st Team travel to play Hadleigh United (3:00 KO). The ‘Reserves’ are also away to league leaders Thetford Rovers (1:30 KO). The ‘Under 23s’ have a home match on the 3G Arena against Martham Reserves (1:30 KO). The ‘Under 23s’ postponed cup match at Stowmarket Town has been rearranged for next Tuesday evening (8:00 KO).
Forthcoming Under 18s fixtures: On Thursday, 4th Dec., the K&PFC U18s are at home to Beccles Town, with the AFC Royals away at Mulbarton Wanderers the same evening. On Thursday, 11th December, the K&PFC U18s and AFC Royals U18s play each other in the local derby match (7:45 KO).
