8. Miscellaneous Awards

Carmarthenshire County Council Learning Difficulties Sports Department held two Annual Presentaion Nights and at the 1st of these the Llanelli Warriors were awarded the Noel James Memorial Shield.

The team were also twice nominated in the Council's main Sports Awards as team of the year. Coach Gwilym lewis was nominated twice as coach of the year and players David Newson and David Spriggs were nominated for Disabled athlete of the year. The club was able to claim victory when linesman Lewis Jones was awarded Disabled Sportsman of the year in a year both coach (Gwilym) and team were again nominated (pictured right).
Lewis was posthumously short listed for lifetime services to sport in 2013.

The Warriors 2nd tour went to Southend were they played the local side for the legendary Essex Shield and edged an exciting match by 2 points.
They have also held their own touch and 7s tourments were they finnished 3rd on 2 occasions miscellaneous

During the Warriors 5th season 1999/00 Carmarthenshire held an integrated team day of their Pendine Touch Rugby Tournament. Warriors Reds and Blues triumphed over their Gladiator counterparts to claim the title.

The Warriors were runners up to the Swansea Gladiators in the Fair Play Shield at the 2014 Beach Rugby Wales competition.
