As we all know playing the game is completely different to being a spectator of the game. What has been your biggest help this season in learning to play league?

“Having played rugby league previously, I can say it is a much simpler game, just getting used to the passing of ball, it is a much quicker pass. There is more speed in the plays. There seems to be more kicking in league now than I remember, it used to be 5 drives to a kick; you see it now where the kick is on 3rd tackle, a little grubber or chip over the top. Oh yeah and everyone wants to be a drop-goal superstar.

“That seem like a rant, but was more just an observation, loving playing rugby league.

“To sum it up, the game (Rugby League) is much quicker”

How have you found your first season at Ossett?

“It has been a good laugh, some great people up at Ossett. Plenty of banter on and off the field. Think I've lost a stone since starting [HaHa]

“Keeping me busy!”

That's always a good thing and as you have a shy nature the banter with the lads will do you some good

“Yeah it's bringing me out of my shell.”

There is plenty of changes going on at the club at the moment, which you are a part of. What can the players expect in the upcoming season?

“Yes there is, we have some big plans for Ossett Trinity. I can't really say much at the moment, other than we have some new sponsors coming on board. So, if anyone would like to sponsor a player, check out the commercial section of our website.”

Did you just do a plug, during our interview?

So can you tell me if there is anything in store of us supports of the club?
“As you know, Ossett Tigers TV, will be a big part of the coming winter season. Our website will be keeping the supporters up to date with the latest news from the tigers.

“Our boys will be putting in some big games, these are games that you don't want to be missing out on.”

It all sounds a bright and exciting future for Ossett Tigers.

“It is, we have new members on the committee pushing the club forward, a new coach and a media team pushing the club.”

How have you found your first pre-season training with the famous Simon Hagger?

“Famous? Really? [HaHa] keep that one to yourself.

“It’s been my first pre-season in a long time, there has been plenty of fitness, which has done the team a great deal of good. I can honestly say we all have done quite well. Coming back in to our plays and defensive work.

“We have a couple of friendlies lined up, so will be good to get back in to playing, before the season starts.”

To say you don't talk much you give the longest answers! [HaHa]

Do you think your fitness has improved for the upcoming season?

“I think my stamina is improving”

In your first season you have not scored a try, which mean the inevitable is coming up soon! Are you looking forward to it?

“Moving on…”

I doubt very much you will be let off!

What are your goals for the coming season?

“Just to go out there have fun and give some big hits, and show our supporters a great game.

“To win is always the main goal, but to give a great show every game, for those coming to watch the game or checking us out on our YouTube channel, building that following.”

Who is your favourite team outside of Ossett? You say Leeds we are getting a divorce [HaHa]

“Leeds…”

Seriously?

“...Tykes, let me finish, always interrupting.

"for Rugby League, we've been watching a lot of Bradford Bulls games lately. We will have to go with the Bulls then."

What is the worst joke you have ever heard! Well than again you say some really bad ones so worst one you have said?

“My jokes are terrible, but have you seen me play the ball?

“Still annoyed that they gave it as a penalty, had to read-up on it later that night, because it was legal… it passed backwards under my foot!”

[HaHa] Unforgettable. He gave the penalty, because you looked like a fairy; playing it back to yourself is also legal, but you never see it happen, so would probably be called penalty too.

Do you have proper joke?

“Knock! Knock!”

Who’s there?

“Sorry, no joke today”

Not amused, what do you like to do in your spare time between working full time as accountant, rugby, club stuff and your own business?

“What’s spare time? Spending time with the wife and my little man. Studying to learn something new.”

What is the best advice you have ever been given regarding your game?
“Had plenty over the last few months; the best advice I’ve had though would be: Run fast, low & hard, just keep pumping, until you've been taken to the floor.”
