Bedford Town travel to Bromsgrove Sporting in a massive league match for the Eagles. Following Monday night’s 3-0 defeat to Redditch United, the Eagles look to turn this poor form around with a win at Bromsgrove.
There has been plenty of big news coming out of the Eyrie recently as Paul Davis stepped down as Bedford Town manager on Wednesday for ‘Personal reasons’. Davis lost all three games when he was in the dugout, including a 1-3 loss against Hednesford Town. Graeme Tomlinson will return as interim manager for the match against Bromsgrove Sporting.
The Eagles lost 3-4 against Bromsgrove Sporting in the last match in Gary Setchell’s last game in charge. Bedford went 1-2 down but brought it back to 3-2. In the final minutes of the game, Dan Sweeney scored two goals to get his hat-trick and the three points for Bromsgrove.
It’s been a torrid start to 2023 for the Eagles with three losses in three games. With Graeme Tomlinson back in interim charge, the Bedford Town faithful will be hoping he can work his magic like he did in December.
Bromsgrove have been in some inconsistent form as of late, they lost their most recent match 2-0 against Hitchin Town at Top Field.
Striker Dan Sweeney has been in top form for Bromsgrove this season scoring fourteen goals so far for Sporting. He has scored once since Bromsgrove’s 3-4 win at the Eyrie.
Sporting’s last win came on the 10th of December when they beat St Ives Town at home. Since then, they have drawn 1-1 with Stourbridge and lost 2-0 to Hitchin Town.
This is bound to be an absolute belter of a match in the midlands as Graeme Tomlinson takes the reigns yet again. The Eagles are still on the hunt for their first win since the 6-1 demolition of AFC Rushden & Diamonds on Boxing day under Tomlinson.
Tickets at the Victoria Ground are priced at £12 for adults, £9 for seniors, £6 for under 18s and £1 for accompanied under 12s.
