The Eagles make the short journey to Sharpenhoe Road to face local rivals Barton Rovers in another game in the Southern League Division One Central. Bedford were scheduled to face AFC Dunstable at home on Tuesday, but the game was postponed due to poor weather.
The Eagles have only been in action once this December and that was on December 16th when Leighton were in town. Bedford drew 1-1 with Leighton Town thanks to a Shane Bush strike.
This month alone, Bedford have had two games postponed due to weather. Big games against North Leigh and AFC Dunstable both had to get called off before the game started.
Bedford remain top of the table and unbeaten in the league after fourteen games as Lee Bircham’s side sit on thirty-four points. This is four points ahead of North Leigh in second as well as the Eagles having a game in hand.
Barton haven’t had a bad start to the season either as they sit sixteenth in the table. Their league position doesn’t quite suit to their performances though as most have been good.
Rovers are just one win from fourteenth place and with just four wins from the first fifteen games is what condemns Barton to their current league position.
Last time out, Barton beat Hadley 1-3 away from home in a big result at Brickfield Lane. Prior to this, Rovers picked up an impressive 1-1 draw against Waltham Abbey.
Try to make your way to Barton for this big game and support Lee Bircham’s side.
