The Eagles are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Chester, where they'll be looking to continue their good form and steady climb up the National League North table. The Eagles are unbeaten in their last three league fixtures and have also kept three clean sheets in a row, largely thanks to Nathan Ashmore who still hasn't conceded a goal in the league. Last time out the Eagles got an important 1-0 victory under the lights at the Eyrie against Oxford City courtesy of Tyrone Marsh's 10th league goal and a resolute defensive performance. Bedford Town now sit in 19th place in the table and are three points clear of the relegation zone. In regards to team news, both Ellis and Sam Brown are returning to full training this week but Saturday's fixture may come too soon for them. Lewis Green, Carl Mensah and Dan Wilks are all still out. Ben Isaacson has recovered from concussion and could feature.
The Eagles opponents Chester are unbeaten in their last ten in all competitions which has included an excellent FA Cup run. In the fourth qualifying round a 95th minute equaliser at Morecambe earned Chester a home replay where they achieved a 2-0 victory over the National League side, booking them a spot in the first round proper of the competition where they will visit Cambridge United. Despite being unbeaten for a long period of time, Chester have drawn 5 of their last 6 league fixtures with their sole victory in this run of fixtures coming last time out in a 2-0 victory at Alfreton Town courtesy of a Tom Peers brace. Chester sit in 14th place in the league and just two points above the Eagles. Last season Chester finished 4th in National League North and lost out in extra time against Scunthorpe in the play-off final.
