New Zealand-born Jago Godden joined the Eagles in late-November 2025. The midfielder began his career with Wellington Phoenix FC and Christchurch in his home country making 24 appearances at aged just 16. The 21 year old then spent time in the UK plying his trade in the academies of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Coventry City, Bolton Wanderers and The New Saints. In early 2024 he spent five weeks with Everton at U21 level. Godden previously played in the New Zealand U17 National Team prior to the cancellation of the 2021 U17 FIFA World Cup. Jago made his Eagles bow as a substitute for Greg Taylor against Darlington, scoring 13 minutes into his debut. He then scored in two consecutive games and has since scored four goals in five appearances.
