9. Club Ethos & Coaching Principles

Kirkley and Pakefield Ethos

Kirkley and Pakefield Football Club will ensure the clubs standards and values are applied and followed throughout all levels of the Football Club both on and off the field.

Our commitment is to ensure football belongs to and is enjoyed by anyone and everyone who wishes to participate in the sport within the club and in our local community.

We will aim to deliver the following;
• To provide football to children of all ages and abilities, in a safe and friendly environment.

• To deliver age-appropriate coaching to support long-term player development.

• To encourage all players to try their best and make the most of their abilities.

• To offer a challenging but supportive environment where children can learn from their mistakes without undue pressure and anxiety; making the environment welcoming and inclusive.

• To promote good behaviour and respect for others.

• To provide the highest level of support to our volunteer workforce to ensure they can provide excellence for players, parents, supporters and all others who access our club

As a Football Club we will not tolerate discrimination, or treating anyone less favourably, on grounds of gender, sexual orientation, marital status, race, nationality, ethnic origin, colour, religion or belief, ability or disability.

Kirkley and Pakefield Coaching Philosophy

Our clearly defined coaching philosophy provides direction, purpose and guidance to the process of coaching young players.

We promote a holistic approach based upon the FA’s four-corner model for long-term player development, with age appropriate coaching recommendations for players aged 5-11 and 12-16.
