Matt was born and raised in Zimbabwe where he attended Falcon College, a very well known Rugby School in Zimbabwe before he left and started farming in the North of the country.

Whilst farming Matt played for the local country team (Karoi) and also represented the Mashonaland Country Districts U21 team for two years running before taking the opportunity to attend the South African Institute of Rugby in Stellenbosch.

After a year learning all things rugby and all things great about the wine farms abound in the area Matt started his international travels and spent a rugby season in Wales, four seasons in Germany, two seasons in Australia and eventually arrived in Singapore in late 2006.

Matt plays for the Wanderers in Singapore and is a current member of the Singapore National team with a few international caps under his belt, two of those as Captain.

Matt is also currently President of the Wanderers RFC having served on the exec committee of the Wanderers RFC for a few years in the capacity of club Captain.

Its all about giving back now and as playing rugby starts to fade on the horizon, Matt hopes that he can give a little of whats he's received over the years back.
