A drill for positioning your body at the breakdown:
It’s very important that every player in the team has the same breakdown skills, this means the ball carrier having responsibility for the ball, winning the contact and presenting the ball well while the 2nd man is to either win the space or take away the threat.
This is a drill that the great George Smith does regularly after training to work on his body position at the breakdown. We will focus on making sure you keep your chest low as you go forward over the breakdown and then cleaning the threat out quickly.
