"The cut shot is played to a ball that is short and wide and the bowler should be punished for bowling a bad ball.
Your back foot needs to go back and across to allow you to get closer to the line of the ball. But don’t go too far as you will still need room in which to extend your arms through the shot.
Notice from the clip that the batsman’s weight is still into the shot and not leaning back. This will allow you to get power into the shot.
Try to come from a high back lift down onto the ball. This will allow you to keep the ball on the floor so you don’t get caught out."
