    Run out cricket

    icrick

How to take the ball for a run out:

"The technique of taking the ball from a run out has changed dramatically in the last few years. Keepers now take the ball in front of the stumps in front of the stumps instead of behind the stumps to save time. When the ball is thrown in, position yourself so you can catch the ball in front of you and glide your hands on the same line in order to break the stumps.

The key to this, is that your foot nearest the stumps, is as close to the stumps as possible, so you know where the stumps are at all times. The key to the run out though, is that you don’t snatch at the catch and miss the ball. Stay relaxed and watch the ball right into the gloves before breaking the stumps."
