Alex Collard arrived at The Eyrie on Friday 9th June 2023. The 28 year old centre back signed a club agreement that to play for the club during the 2023/24 season, also becoming the new club captain.Alex arrived at the club following a hugely successful season prior. He captained Tamworth to the 2022/23 Southern League Premier Division Central title.
Collard started his career at Aylesbury FC and Mursley, spending three seasons across the two clubs. He then switched Buckinghamshire sides, moving to Aylesbury United in 2015. After a year at Kempston Rovers, Collard then moved to join AFC Rushden & Diamonds and spent four seasons at Hayden Road, turning out for Diamonds 73 times (including the two curtailed COVID seasons). As mentioned, he then followed Andy Peaks to Tamworth, and led the Lambs to promotion to the National League for this season.
