2. Sam Jackson


The most successful manager of Hall Green United suddenly and sadly passed away on the 31 october 2006 at the age of 46. Sam, who took up the position of first team manager in the summer of 2005, was a charismatic person who inspired the players and was loved by all at Hall Green. His early death was a sad loss to everyone.

Although only managing for one full season before his fatal heart attack, Sam managed to win more trophies in 12 months than any of his predecessors. The West Riding County Amateur Division 1 championship, The Wakefield Challenge Cup, The Wakefield Open Cup and the Heavy Woollen Memorial Cup. The club will always remember Sam as it's most successful manager.
