An inspiration to the community and known by the vast majority of it's residents, Dean lost his fight with Cancer in the early hours of August 31st 2012.
Although he didn't make many appearances for the club, his support for us never faded. He came from a family that has been heavily involved with the clubs foundations and it's continued success to this day.
Before re-joining the club in the 2011/12 season, Dean only played one full season between 1987-88. Making his debut for the Reserve side, under the guidance of Tony Parrish, Dean first wore the black and white stripes against Rawdon OB Reserve side on 5th September 1987. After a very impressive performance he was called straight into the first team by the late Alan Banks. On 12th September against Rawdon OB's first team Dean made his first team debut. Dean went onto make 20 appearances for the club, scoring 7 goals in the process.
He leaves behind his two children, Ashley and Sophie, both of who can be very proud of the man they could call Dad. Ashley continues to follow in his father's footsteps as he currently plys his trade for the club.
