Allen was a founding player of Hall Green Utd and played during the late 70's, early 80's, as one third of the Banks Brothers who regularly turned out for the club.
However, it was Allen's passion for management which gained him recognition within the community. Forming the 2nd ever Junior Side at Hall Green, Allen along with his friend Richard Sunderland, created a side with many talents.
Allen managed the Juniors from Under 11's, right through to Under 18's where many of his youngsters went on to be part of the open age sides.
Gavin McDermott, Sean Padden, Gary Dack, Andy Barker, Ryan Miller and Mickey Sunderland all made many appearances for the club at senior level, which was all due to Allen's coaching talents.
The club will always be endebted to Alan as a successful player, a legandary junior manager and great friend to many. After a short illness Allen sadly passed away in 2010, he will be missed by everyone who knew him.
