Cefenithin scored 6 tries but it wasn't enough as the free running Warriors scored 55 points.
The Warriors showed their intentions right from the start. Capitalising on a kick off, they spread the ball wide and Simon Day scored on the wing. A few minutes later Tony Whittaker touched down on the other side. When Yanis Whitely also crossed early the signs were ominous for the home team.
Cefenithin got themselves going and took the game back to the Warriors who seemed to have got complacent after their strong start. They scored three unanswered tries to leave the Warriors in front only due to more accurate kicking.
Momentum swung back to the Warriors with Craig James and Nathan Murphy scoring and although it was pretty even after that, the Warriors maintained their lead.
Cefenithin fielded players from all three teams and it was good to see youngsters like Lewis Godden gel effectively with veteans like Richard Evans, Arwel Watts and Scott Davies. Dan Bonar was at the heart of their best players and Peebles scored the pick of their tries.
The Warriors were indebted to the strong carrying of Dai Haines, ably assisted by Rhydian Williams and Will Browne. This allowed them to control the pace of the game and the introduction of veterans Colin Tacon and Jason Jenkins helped them steer the ship home. Skill of the day was an inch perfect cross kick from Murphy which saw Whittaker claim a second try and Tomos Hall put the result beyond doubt with a strong run at the end.
As for every other time over 20 years that they have played, the day was about more than just the match. There was a great atmosphere in the clubhouse afterwards and again the Warriors benefited from the fundraising efforts of Cefneithin's sponsors and patrons.
Llanelli Warriors: Dan John, Tony Whittaker, Ben Winstanley (Tom Edwards), Johnathon Kearney (Gareth Ladd), Simon Day, Nathan Murphy, Craig James, Will Browne (Colin Tacon), Richard Evans (Cpt), (Jason Jenkins), Gareth Emery (Mark Lewis), John Horwood (Darren Pollitt), Rhydian Williams, Yanis Whiteley (Simon Jenkins), Tomos Hall (Dai Haines), Gwilym Lewis.
What more can be said about this fixture, on the 20th anniversary it again delivered. No surprise as all the elements were there: A full Cefneithin squad of youth, 1st, 2nds, a couple of veterans and including a Bonar, a full Warriors squad including stalwarts like Colin, Jason 2 Guns and Jumpin' John Horwood, Charlie - even if he left the refereeing to Ricky Guest, Dai Juniors (with beer), Gwyn taking photos, Wales v Italy, a full clubhouse, Chris Bonar, Jason's haka/Calon lan special, lots of speeches and presentations and of course a roof rattling version of Yellow Submarine!
After all that it was all aboard Charlotte and off to the bright lights of Llanelli!
